This indenture made and entered into this the 12^th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty one between Malachiah HAFFORD of the County of Gallatin State of Illinois of the first part and Nancy HAFFORD of the second part and of the same County and State aforesaid witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars good and lawful money of the United States to him the said Malachiah HEIFFORD of the first part in hand paid the receipt hereof is hereby acknowledges have bargained, sold, conveyed and granted and by these present do bargain, sell convey and grant unto her the said Nancy HEFFORD of the second part her heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land containing in the south west ¼ (?) North west quarter section fifteen T8 south of ___ 7 East containing thirty acres all whereas the above named Malachi HEIFFORD bargained and sold convey to the said second part Nancy HEIFFORD the above named lot of land to have and to hold unto the said Nancy HEIFFORD her heirs and assigns forever as a good and indefeasible Estate in free simple in testimony whereof the aforesaid party of the first do bind myself my heirs and assigns forever to ____ and defend in law from all and every claim unto the above named Nancy HEIFFORD of the second part in Testimony whereof I set my name the day and date above written.
